SUMMER RESOURCES K-2
Hello and Happy Summer to our Gorman Fort Banks Guardians/Parents!
Your student has worked hard this past year and has acquired many new skills. To help maintain skills, each day should include some element of academic engagement. The resources included in this “Summer Resources K-2” link are intended to help maintain skills and potentially advance student performance. There is no introduction of new content so all parents/guardians need to do is provide time and encouragement for students to use the material. In addition the school website has lots of great links and supplemental learning games that will go a long way in keeping students academically engaged. Given that content for K-2 is posted, parents/guardians can personalize their students’ use of the website to either go back or forward with material depending on student need. Taking a look at a grade level below you may be necessary if students get too rusty and looking ahead is an option for ambitious learners. Participating in the PTO sponsored summer reading program is an effortless and fun way to make reading part of your child’s daily routine. And Lexia is available all summer, too! Your child may continue to use his/her user name and password. Remember, Lexia is optimally effective if used at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes each session. Click here to see the LEXIA grade level expectations for your students. Let’s keep learning a year long goal…together! Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable summer!
